So you can tell a dog's well worked by looking at it ok I have seen dogs bashed up on there first encounter jack and refused to re enter but the same place has been dug by a dog not looking like a butcher's block looks mean nothing bangers

Were not talking about young dogs going in on there first encounter and jacking and refuse to re enter. Why you'd send in a young dog at first or green dog is beyond me. Without digging down with and experienced dog that knows its game. Then once dug down an the experienced dogs got a hold let the young dog get a hold. Do that for a few outings. Then let the young dog go to ground once it's seen the older dog doing the job and got the taste for it. That's why alot of dogs don't make it. Fools wanting too much same with lurcher work.

Bangers a terrier with right breeding will just go itself self enter you drop it when it's old enough its up to them.. I would  give a terrier a blocked end as a  last resort at getting it going  your learning them nothing doing it actually you could just stop it wanting to travel altogether and just have it waiting to get it's blocked end ..you sir you baffle me

Dogs have instinct amd traits bangers that’s why they get used for what they do … a dog with natural instinct knows what to do … maybe not the easiest way but that comes with experience…. I never showed my dog as a pup  how to run rabbit or anything else, …. And as a novice , he showed me ….

Just to add if i took my missus staff cross out it wouldn’t know what do do if a rabbit ran past or a deer ….she might follow mine if I took them both and join in . see the difference….  Proper dog for the job … if it needs showing you got the lap dog out
