Gunter how many foxes does a decent single handed fox dog take a season ? Whether they bolted from cover dropped from a dig or lamped? Just single handed tho, or so you’s lads double up for more numbers ?

Tbh the fella he's talking about definitely don't double up and gets plenty lamping wise I don't do much don't  double up most people over here want a single handed dog   that man does alot of lamping  if its lamping mchull wanted to go I'd say that man would match mchull no problem on foxes any way a good fox dog look it's like this a dog can only take what is infront of it there no point going into numbers but say a man gets thirty and dog does them no problem well that's that man happy if a man does hundred a season well he'd need a lurcher that could take hundred foxes most people are going to be the same as me you don't count foxes or what you get  you just work the dog at whatever you can  put infront of it if it lifts the head stops working  isn't great at lifting stuff it goes right away mate

Iv known lads with single handed dogs that did double up jist to make sure dog was getting enough runs a the bags where bigger, but know for a fact them same lads wouldn’t think twice about asking dog to pull on me out a hole or kill it single handed on lamp or daytime. An sure the dogs actions will let you know how serious is about the job in hand, but surely once you got a dog that ye call a fox dog ye keep rough track of numbers, so ye know how the dogs doing

Ino but think about it like this a man that hunts foxes week in week out and kills foxes steady why would you keep track of numbers when your out steady with the dog youll know what it is the dog will do its own talking tbh

Fcuk sake mate we are talking a a few a week for half the year you don’t need to Carol Fcuking vordermann to keep track haha I used to kill between 20/80 rabbits a few times a week with a few other edible species chucked in for a bit a variety an still managed to keep track haha but there again I took it quite serious an it paid the bills, but I wanted to have a rough idea of what the dogs where capable of
