gunter 1,023
Small land any lad with a decent game running dog will put yours to bed or give you a decent run and if you havnt seen different cross of lurcher bar a saluki cross get out more imagine having dog and talking about subaru off roading we don't do that over here mate that's what puts farmers heads away and gives folks bad names and passing on runs I'd say you'd pass on the 2nd fox run up your hedge if it caught one never mind not slipping on hare because its to far away lol 1 Quote Link to post

Moonlighter123 239
For muntys you want a dog that wants to kill it quick. The dogs needs a throat hold. They scream like mad and the bucks can thrash and cut a dog quite badly if it’s just grabbing a leg and not trying to kill it.. you can’t teach a throat hold, that’s just instinct in some dogs. My old coursing dog was a leg grabber…. Caught loads of deer but killed very few. If muntys are your game, your dog will need to be good in cover.. large coursing dogs aren’t suited to this.. their legs are too long and aren’t fast enough in thick cover to keep up. Great for lamping them but daytime hunting is a different ball game. My beddy cross has a great nose and jacket, is good in cover and wants to kill what it catches… that would be ideal if you were looking to hunt munty. 8 Quote Link to post
