My current motor was a freebie mot failure Suzuki swift had a break in the wiring loom cost me £75 to put it right and been driving it for the last 5 years dogs in the back collect logs in it all wint

I think if you do your homework even if you know little about cars some bargains can be had yes some are money pits and some need scrapping, but some send off to the scrappers because they've either f

Sounds like a good one that Shame about the accident but at least you wasn't badly hurt.

I had a nova aswell but mine was a death trap according to a mechanic at the time another one down to my dad his logic was if it's got MOT it'll be right.

Then Volvos you mention we're good motors eh go forever if treated well

Yeah was a shame really nice little car just bruised up but not badly hurt Volvos are built properly like army tanks.
them little novas wasn’t built to last they got a timeless look to them with the box arches bit like the lancer delta rally car back in the day I was looking for a nova a couple of months ago as I had a idea in my head of getting back in to cars and doing a project build I wanted to build a rally car as a project but soon gave up on the idea when I started looking at basic car prices and the gear needed to build it the little nova definitely wasn’t built to last

Hope you get chance to do something like that it must be good fun n really rewarding when you can do things like that yourself other than basics and akso have the space.

What do you think of the Yaris and starlet they always seemed good little cars don't seem to see many starlets now.

Another good car I had back in the day that I got for a bargain price was a nova Sri I give £150 for it the lad that owned it had paid £1400 for it a couple of months prior it had a scorpion Alarm and immobiliser fitted and mobilised its self he was quoted £1000 for a auto electrician to remove the immobiliser so I asked what he wanted he said scrap value so give him £150 I didn’t need the car but it was a mint one got it recovered to my girlfriends parents gaff me and her old man removed the alarm and immobiliser within 15mins I was on the road in it the following day rapid little car kept it as a work vehicle for a couple of years till I was side swiped by a Volvo at speed and put in a ditch I’d love this car back

Nice bet theres loads of people that wished they'd hung onto certain cars that they'd let go for peanuts in the past not realising there worth now.

Older cars have more style and more quality metal back then today's cars are tinny metal and look all the same and alot more easy to work on then today's cars all electronics and back to the manufacturer to change a switch

Dont get me won't wrong be nice to have a new Hilux or something maybe but I do like older cars they have character plus i to save something from potential scrap n always good to get a bargain so many people loose/spend alot of money over the years through cars don't they.
