Many years ago i saw a collie that had been bitten and didn't know it'd be bitten by a Adder until it was in the vets waiting to see the vet and another chap in there said "that's been bitten by a Adder"as his dog had been before, the collie had a head the size of a football and we'd thought it had been hit by a car.The vet  gave the same verdict and gave the dog a few jabs of what i can't remember but the dog was sore for a day or two but recovered totally.. Good luck with it Tony...:victory:

I’ve only had one bitten myself but seen a few, normally anti histamines are enough but mine was put on a drip as a precaution, vets recommendation. I’ve known one dog die days later, sure it was kidney failure in the end.

It’ll swell massively if it’s been bitten by an adder

Lost my best digging bitch a few seasons ago to an adder bite same thing never heard of it till then. And she died 2 days after. Broke through and she hadn't taken any stick but had 2 little pricks on her nose and keeper informed after that prime time for adders.

I lost a very good dog to an adder bite . It was genuinely heartbreaking as no one could figure out what was wrong until it was too late . The bite never killed him , it was the seizures and the fits caused with it pumping round his system that caused it . I was f***ing distraught for days . Worst thing that’s ever happened to me dog wise

Thats the problem adders in the grass slowly getting along and someone or a dog cops for a bite at the time seeing your dog going through that episode I bet your heart was in your mouth as he been poisoned or a elliptical fit we had a dog with epilepsy and you saying that reminds me of our old dog went through at the time when my mother was a live she couldn't bear to look our dad was also shocked he had a real funny weird feeling it took our dad days to get him to stop thinking of our dog on the floor
