All the best dogs iv had were gifted under the agreement I didn’t breed an peddle them or pass them on, terriers and lurchers

That's the way it should be. Unless you get the thumbs up to breed an you repay the favour by gifting them a pup back if the dog makes the grade your both happy with.

Saying that iv also paid for pups if it’s what iv wanted, last lurcher pup I drove all way to cork to collect it, lad there was a gent an charged me pittance cos I’d made the effort an done him a favour in return, don’t really care about the price tbh if it’s what I want I’ll get it

One of pups I bred went to Kendal. Bred from the deer x grey x beddy x whippet. Used a chaps collie x over doncaster way. The chap who came from Kendal showed me some footage an images of the land he had around home. Lost his old dog. A gave him the pup for 100 quid. A wanted 200 for them. But told him fuel keep an a bag of snap. Most probably had more money that me. Lol. But he seemed a decent fella. That was before all the micro chipping an vaccine bull shit the breeder has to do.

I always have, but again that’s also one reasons I don’t breed dogs cos wether I charged 10 grand for pups or gifted them away I’d always be wondering if they was okay haha but ain’t got heart to be ruthless an cull most, so it’s easier for me to find folk with decent dogs I like an getting a pup in

Last two dogs, a teckel and a deer/grey, were gifted.

One before that, a deer/grey, that I travelled to Manchester for, the lad wanted £250 but when he found out we had mutual friends, he insisted I only give him £200, then he gave me £20 back as “luck money”.
One before that , a beddy type lurcher , was £120, best money I’ve ever spent on a dog, gave me years of work.

The ones before that, a Doberman , deerhound X’s and various Salukis were all gifted.

I never paid for any of the whippets I’ve had as they were bred by friends and family.

So there’s plenty men will place pups in genuine working homes that aren’t in it for the money !

If there was a pup I really wanted to, money or distance wouldn’t come into it.

Cheers.
