A pic of a few dogs owned by London lads in the past. The white bitch was the litter sister to the great grand dam to lucky the dark destroyer i believe. The brindle bitch was a fx saluki greyhound.

No better feeling than bringing a dog on from a pup...giving them a spin at 10/11 month old and  watching it take it's first rabbit/fox/deer etc...no drug comes close Neck😔

I run probably the worst two lurchers in Essex lol saluki bull grey I posted a pick few pages back then got deerhound greyhound x collie greyhound  they do what keeps me happy

didnt say they dropped hares  ,but hey what do i know  all sorts of things go on  eh.

Mate, idiots, usually young uns dropping rabbits for the pups isn't the same really. I'm not slating the Arabs just saying it like it is, they usually use dropped antelope for the reasons you have said.

But these antelope make a hare look like a tortoise, I've just watched a video where the antelope is being chased around the desert with motors and god knows how many dogs, in over 5 mins they didn't even look close to putting a bend in it. They caught it in the end but it's hard to make out what happend, wether it collapsed from exhaustion, tripped or god knows what else, it was pulling away from the dogs near the end though.

They slip multiple dogs on them, I'm not sure how sporting they are, slipping fresher dogs on the quarry, wonder if that goes on?

I don't know of any serious lads that use dropper hares mate? My point is though, gazelle and other antelope are a tougher challenge than a brown hare in any condition, they are much faster and have great stamina.

your right ours aint better than there salukis theres is a long distance aint it ours middle distance differnet lines aint

How did that import from Iran that you had turn out mate ?

Those chasing gazelle are just flat out athletes, they can't hope to be as fast as them so need pure stamina, they'd make our coursing dogs look like a non-ped. Lol

But the fact that they can at least keep on terms with a gazelle or slowly lose ground shows they still have plenty of speed, a gazelle is much faster than a brown hare. If I was you I'd be getting in to Charts, get yourself a desert scarf and book some flights over there and get yourself one of them or straws off a dog. Lol

We used to fly in crate loads of Thompsons from Africa for the Saudis to run with their Salukis.

But it’s not all droppers, the Bedouin are allowed to hunt for meat and the rich have “ hunting camps”; a huge convoy of water trucks, catering trucks, trucks carrying the tents , carpets , etc and a fleet of Land Cruisers. They go on hunting trips for days.

I know Saudi and Emirates who fly their dogs and falcons to Pakistan and North Africa to hunt gazelle and bustard.

I used to be in the desert every week end with my dogs, but to be honest, if you saw a hare, let alone got a run, it was a good day.

My missus is going shortly, just got her new evisa, multiple exit re-entry, done in minutes. No visa necessary for the UAE, so I’m surprised that anyone really into Salukis doesn’t have a trip out there and see them first hand.

Cheers.
