eastcoast 4,500
Newcastle v Brentford yesterday. Sandro Tonali. All the talk this year has been about Isak, and who is going to buy him. Last year it was Gordon. The year before it was Bruno. Players too good to remain at Newcastle. We shall see. But Tonali? Watching him this season, he is the one who no matter what happens at Newcastle, he will win medals, league cups, Champions League, Italy will be winning cups with him. The player of his generation. eastcoast 4,500
The Kraken has woken. Seriously though, Sandro Tonali is the only truly world class player that we have had since Shearer, however much I rate the others. Will be interesting to see if the Arabs can keep him. I think this is down to Howe. He’s got Tonali playing more as a defensive midfielder now, even though he scored a great goal last night. Howe took a failed forward, Joelinton, and turned him into a midfield powerhouse. Trippier is playing as good as he ever has, in the twilight of his career and Big Dan Burn is having the time of his life. You can see the players love playing for Newcastle, with Howe and Mad Dog coaching them . Cheers.

The turn.around of Joelinton is nothing short of amazing, was destined to be the worst striker in Prem history, now an integral part of a brilliant midfield 3, his fitness and all round presence is top.class, he pops up.with more goals from that deeper position, he's a great player and Howe deserves all the plaudits for spotting that..

My point was, Tonali will become one of the greats, hopefully at Newcastle, but he will do it. That goal was not a fluke. Zen like

Zen like I like that people look at a game and see players like that, so many watch football in both boxes and completely ignore through disinterest or ignorance the great stuff happening in mid field. I watched both the ties between Bayern Munich & Leverkusen the other week…..Watching Kimmich (spel) was an absolute pleasure, to a point where I couldn’t have given two shits about what was happening in either box. Its like when Modrich makes an appearance these days, your eyes are glued to him….everything from the simple to the sublime has real knowledge and class behind it, brilliant .

Newcastle's current midfield are a joy to watch. I hate to see players getting the ball and then look up to decide what to do with it. Looking at their team mates to say "who wants it?". Often resulting in a side or back pass. Bruno and Tonali read the game a second before the mere mortals around them see it. Sean Longstaff is terrible for it. In his defence, the Newcastle sides that he has played in and managers he has played under during his formative years would play most of the game without the ball. In possession players were terrified to lose it, and losing possession would bring moans and groans from the crowd. The current midfield get the ball forward at every opportunity. If it gets intercepted another Newcastle player will regain possession before the opposing player has made his mind up what what to do. And then we are 20/30 yards further up the pitch. But Bruno and Tonali have the footballing brain, confidence and skill to make it happen.
