Got a surprise trout fishing a bead for salmon.

Fantastic salmon season, beat my personal best biggest fish, thousands running up.

80 pounder caught on the Kenai,a bloke I know has been dip netting there the last two days estimated 190,000 fish ran up in two days.

That was caught on the river bush, where they make the world famous whiskey, basically we plumb the depth then lift the prawn a foot off the bottom, using a float to keep it suspended, so if its 6ft deep we fish the prawn/shrimp at 5ft, when the float goes down then its usually a fish

@jukel123 any springers caught? You been out?

There was one on my beat on the first day. 10lbs. Nothing since mate.

I've been out a few times but caught nowt. The river has been constantly  in spate.

Unlike the lower orders, I only fish the fly ,so my opportunities to fish  have been limited due to constant rain.

We are in the middle of a storm and it's forecast to reach 80mph as I write. So can't see me being out next week.  👍

Spinning gives me a bad back mate. It's the deadliest method imo,  but with the fly there is very little physical effort and I can fish all day. I've taught myself to speycast and that method is really easy on your body. Tight lines.
