The cost of buying loads of tins of pellets to test which gives the best grouping can be costly so the best course of action is to buy 'test packs/tins'.  JSB and H&N produce them and I think are available from a number of retailers online.  I always liked JSB Exact in my .177 guns but others will say something different because ALL barrels can and usually will give different results.

Yes because the factory puts a coating of grease in the barrel for protection until it is actually sold, to you in this case.
