Rescue dog

Hey up lads, hope you've all had a good day, well look, as most of you will be aware ,I'm in sheltered housing, so no dogs allowed, but there's this lady lives upstairs , and at the moment she's minding her friends little dog, only.a little mite , but thing is, this here lady has been cooking Christmas lunch fer several of the residents here so asked me if I wouldn't mind having the little chap for the day, no.bother i.says I've had contact with the little chap before, it's taken to me as I have him, he follows me wherever I go, what with having my daughter over for the day, and having that little chap at my feet most of the day, it's not been a bad Christmas day, the lady from.upstairs also has use of her friends house while they are away, so.she.gone now, with my little mate, it's a little chihuahua x sausage dog or summat, but what a crackin little chap he is, he even.sits at my.lounge door waiting to.go.ablute, I'm missing him now

Forgot to add, the lady was granted permission from.the council to have the dog short term

Only allowed short term.mate , the council have made that very clear to all residents

My friend has wee whippet says it's for he's mental health mate companion dog he's in the same housing as you mite work mate it would be worth a try

Thanks mate, we have an housing officer comes here twice a week, he has an.office at the front of the building, so .going to have a word with him next time he visits, I even have my own little patch of garden at the front , I open my lounge door and the dog has access to that

Having a little companion is a great idea . Best thing my dad did post retirement was get himself another dog for company

Why not volunteer at a dogs home? They are always looking for people to socialise and walk dogs. I used to do it. I would always make a beeline for the lurchers and walk them.

You made the choice to move mate , you had a house where you could have had a dog but instead chose to spend the last few years with your daughter making up for lost time .

I used to knock around with a lad who used to walk rescue lurchers and wasn’t shy of letting them off at stuff

Used to crease me up pulling up at his as you never knew what he’d come out the door with

Tempted, but their recall was zero. Could be because a lot were Romanian street dogs or Spanish street dogs. They didn't understand my lingo.

The home was just a racket. They would take in mutts from all over the world, but if somebody was struggling with a dog from this country they would often refuse. They would take in a dog that they thought they could rehome  quickly like a Chihuahua or a poodle because that made their books look good. But they would refuse people who had genuine problems with a dog like landlord problems or separation anxiety because they might be stuck with the dog for months. They weren't in it for the dogs welfare, just their own. Cynical twats actually. To cap it all, the manager bought herself a pedigree pup for outrageous money instead of rehousing a homeless dog.
