The only time I ever really thought "Oh dear" was when I was arrested in Pakistan, wrong time wrong place, much ado about nothing, all well that ends well. Lots of folk mistake hog nose for venomous but they not and they act like venomous snake when desterbed but its all show and normaly they strick and not bite . I wouldn't mind seeing an Eastern hog nosed under a bit of tin, one day I will chance lucky yes, garter snakes here are in very healthy numbers,you can see them daily on trails, places like petrie island they are everywhere and petrie island is only about 15 minutes away 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I was in marrakesh years ago, there was a bloke in the market selling loads of absolutely tiny chameleon and some tiny tortoises for the equivalent of a quid or two each, really cheap.How easy is it to source a gila monster? Yep I must admit to a life long fascination with Gila's myself. It really makes no earthly difference, to me, whether they happen to be venomous or not. I just love 'em! There was a bloke, as I remember, got some and was breeding them, if I remember rightly? England. This would have been a couple of decades back now. Think they were going for a grand or two a pop? It’s surprising how well they can recover from broken shells , luckily never had that problem when I was with the wife but remember reading up about it and think in severe cases they used to treat with very weak dose of baytril?
