Wasp Nest Pictures

What exactly are they made of , i had a small on in the shed last year , it was empty & went to dust when i took it off the shed

 

 

Effectively 'paper'. the wasps chew up wood to make it.

Yes Kay..........they are clever little hot arsed buggers.........and the nests are constructed as John said of chewed wood mixed with saliva. It is facinating to see the different colours in the nests "paper" construction where the wasps have been chewing wood from fence panels stained different colours.Lots of greens and red cedar type stains.

The one in my shed was a silver colour , it was only small about the size of a mango , and hollow , still interesting to see though :thumbs:
