Who wants to own a snake? Fecking weirdos ? Cheers, D.

I was at a bird auction the other night and there was an iguana in a tank, only went for a tenner. It was in Wigan so that poor bugger probably got eaten as well .........straight under a crust.

It’s more the environmental impact they have not only do they shit everywhere in pools hot tubs etc but they are undermining everything with their burrows main problem is the canal banks over there plus it’s an invasive non native species .

I get what your saying but they got more things to worry about than crap in a hot tub , if I was them I'd concentrate on the reticulated pythons and scrub pythons that can eat a human as they grow very large and able to eat a deer so a kid no problem ,

They do hunt them mate, there's a state bounty on pythons, Florida seems to be the perfect environment for invasive species to thrive.

I chat with a  hepertoligist who went over to states to help with the large snake problem ,he told them many years ago to stop all reptile shops ,breeders from selling these snakes as hatchlings to public but it fell on deaf ears ,scrub python "African rock " reticulated pythons, Burmese can grow to a large size qnd will soon out grow a 6ft viv so will need a room size inclouser and most people can not cater for this or what they need to feed on so they get realised into the wild and like you say florida perfect invirement for them to strive ,these big snakes can and will eat a human especially large females, if one bites and wraps your in trouble,

Anyone can walk into a reptile shop and buy one for few pounds or dollars and this is the problem, they should be under the dwa license here and the states and maybe if the wildlife department took notice years ago to what they was being told they wouldn't be in this problem now .

They will never get rid of them now no matter how much trapping they do .

Monitors would overrun florida, I have watched them in three separate capital cities adapting and thriving, I saw a guesstimate that there's now 20 million iguana eggs laid each year in the state of florida. P1000521.JPG.a97830617ab0bb97caf8e0f37be2f69b.JPGP1000575.thumb.JPG.014054fab62b2781fcb9e10a4c04acbb.JPGP1000512.thumb.JPG.4fb3b3357f0cf98bfc20f8963001bca6.JPGP1000507.thumb.JPG.3b26c252adfb29e1c6a0ca3ef6787275.JPG

Yes they amazing and should never be sold as pets as they just get two big ,was pic taken in Bangkok?

Igs burrow to lay eggs qnd lay stupid amounts so I'm sure they be thousands hatching each year and this is why river banks collapse .they not living in burrows but laying eggs in large numbers .

They are very adaptive, yes those pics are taken in Bangkok, walk any klong and your going to see them in numbers, I put a pic up on here years ago of one eating a bullfrog, in Bangkok they thrive, I can imagine if they were in Florida they would quickly become a major league pest. Webp.net-resizeimage.thumb.jpg.4a2e39d834ef937ada85290c19cf5e0e.jpg

The rock python they caught had a $1000 from the landowner as it had killed their dog a husky I think?
trouble is the Florida climate is so similar to their native one they are literally being kept in timber and mesh enclosures like you would keep rabbits or chickens in.
