Toe looks stubbed pal, the young dog I have just now done the same thing from a small pup, it never gave him any bother until I started running him around the year old mark, was fine with one or 2 but after a decent night he was always light on it the next morning. I gave him three months off just road walking, seems  sound on it now just keeping fingers crossed for next season. All the best.

Yeah im hoping if I take it easy with her now then it will pay off for the future. Back to vets tomorrow for check but doesn't seem to be causing her any bother currently so fingers crossed!,

Wondering if some of you more experienced people can offer some guidance. Recently got my first lurcher puppy, currently around 14 weeks old. Have done as much research as possible regarding her exercise and training and all has been going well. Until yesterday, she had a mad 10 minutes in the garden with my spaniel and then and hour or so later she was holding her rear leg up. Checked it over but nothing obvious so assumed she had just knocked it. Now just got home from work and although not holding it up,  she is limping a little but putting weight on it. Have however noticed her toe is swollen, have tried looking into broken & dislocated toes in lurchers but not very helpful, could anybody provide any clarity before I get her to vets?

Did your dog recover from this? My 3 year old lurcher done exactly the same injury last week. Been doing 3 days on 3 days off bone radiol. He’s had a weeks course of metacam and been in mag box 1 hour a day full power. I think the swelling has gone down a little bit but still big and rock hard. Lead rest and he’s showing no pain at all he wants to be bouncing around. Just wanting to know how much time off and did the dog fully recover?

If it's rock hard could be calloused up mines same atm broke a toe on back foot (was a dropped toe anyway where he went through a tendon) on week 4 of rest now generally broken/knocked toes is 6 weeks of rest up/lead walks.....broke a front toe couple years back just rested him for 6 weeks and never had any issues again
