Yeh it’s the same sort of thing if I remember when Kanny bought his it was a similar size to that but a pit boss, all it is is an electric auger feeding flavoured pellets into a hot element that’s is thermostat controlled, reasonable price £500.

Gents to say I’m excited is an understatement I’ve just sold my old ProQ smoker on eBay and it surprised me how much I got for it so I took the plunge and have upped my game to an American Pit Boss Au

Buddy did a little BBQ for mother's day

Was nearly 9 hours in the end , melt in your mouth

Get yourself and old portfolio cabinet mate. Cut the bottom of the draws out mesh them up except the bottom one. Leave that for pellets or wood that you go collect.  Then insert chimney at the back at the top. f**k paying for sumat you can make Mc. Plus you can put rods through to hang stuff on inside the draws.

Can't beat cost affective cooking. Bollocks lining some other c**ts pocket when you can make your own just as good. Put a temp gauge at the front. Few vents to open up. Happy days. Bollocks paying 500 notes for sumat that can f**k up. All you need is shavings snowflake bedding. Slow burning.

With them portfolio cabinets you can put full chickens in Mc in top draw.  jacket spuds on middle , with some vegetables too. Any meat. But seen them with full chickens.  Brillant bits of kit.

Mines bigger than yours mate! ...lol

I got the pit boss navigator 1150, I was after the same as yours, I ordered it from bbq land but they fukt up , basically they were out of stock so they did me the navigator at the same price....anyway they all work with the same principle regardless of size or make,  great bits of kit, you can't go wrong...as you rightly mentioned they are a smoker first and foremost.

I might go for one of these when my egg dies, but tbh I can't imagine not using charcoal ....I quite fancy making my own smoker I could buy a tank/vessel and cut and fabricate it easy enough....

If you do get one shop around for your pellets the price differences are big pit boss and treager will probably be your most expensive I bought a job lot out of tescos that were on offer hardly any difference to be fair.

I'd like a ceramic egg when mine dies lol ...yeah if you are handy with metal then it should be fairly straightforward to build a wood smoker I'd imagine,  thicker the gauge, better the heat control 👍🏻

I often get the treager pellets simply because they are more conveniently available to me but I do rate the pitboss pellets better,  seem to get a deeper smoke flavour from them imo..local garden centre has just stocked the pitboss range so hopefully I've got a local supply now.
