Sorry mate but Parasol is very good I love them but they deteriorate quickly. Classed as excellent by Roger Phillips.

The Scarlet Wax Cap/ Scarlet Hood is also edible classed as good. Although I have not eaten one myself.

The Meadow Wax Cap is classed as good. I have not eaten this one as well. Warning is could be muddled with other Wax Caps.

Cheers Arry

Truthfully I hadn't looked and was being pedantic, noone had mentioned edible to walshie ?

Come on Kev. Asking random people on the internet if something is deadly or not from a dodgy photo is foolproof. What's the worst that could happen?

I watched hugh picking some big white puff ball type things on 1 of his programmes a while ago some size on them.

His mushroom guy is knowledgeable.i seen him on last night's programme putting wood dowels into logs that had some kind of mushroom spores or something on them.

Have any of you lads done that. a type of grow your own set up..

If you see one pick it as long as it cuts white all the way through and are not in a field thats been sprayed off. The safest fungi in the UK as there is nothing you can muddle it with, safer than a Field Mushroom. I cut them in 10mm to 15mm slices and Fry.  But watched Hugh hollow one out and cook pigeon etc inside it.

I find the whole mushroom subject very interesting, but a lot of good and bad ones seem to be so similar to each other I wouldn't trust myself to get the I.D right, even with the app on the phone. Especially when Google says you CAN eat waxcaps and other sites say you can't.
