Greb147 6,810
Have you heard about the news between Larratt and Todd, they are having another match in about 10 weeks time after Levan jacked a potential match between Todd, the PAL have a strict hold on him. Todd is a big favourite now as Devon has only just started recovering from a life threatening illness, 6 months ago Devon would have done him, he was looking that good.
gnasher16 31,602
Yes that was arranged a while ago i thought it was mid May but i might be wrong.....hard as it is to say as he,s been a magnificent ambassador for the sport but i dont think Devon will ever get back to number 1 you just cant keep going to the well year after year like that, injury after injury.Personally i dont think either Todd or Larratt could realistically compete with Levan i dont see anybody in the world breaking through his wrist and back pressure at the moment....infact id go as far as to say Todd/Larratt would have to be at their very best to be beating the likes of Vitaley Laletin/Kostadinov or even Dimitry Trubin at the moment....Yanks have a tough time accepting that the best pullers in the world at this moment are from Europe/Central Asia.....at heavyweight anyway. gnasher16 31,602
I couldnt travel at the time but a lucky chap off this forum was a hop, skip and a jump away from this match last year....for me this cemented Levan as number 1....i actually thought Laletin would beat him.
Greb147 6,810
Well that was a massive surprise, Devon demolished Todd 6-0. I'm not privy to the exact rules but I suspect the Kings Move was strictly monitored, Todd didn't look close to getting in the match. Devon has mutated in to a monster in his own right, just about touching 300lb, he looked as strong as an Ox today.

I dont think its a surprise at all Devon rarely loses to the same person twice his arm wrestling iq is just so high he knows exactly where he needs to go but what was shocking was the total domination that was a historic match and absolutely brilliant to watch ive never seen Todd "bodied " like that ever,Devon totally dominated the centre of the table and Todd got crushed in the transitions, simple. Regards the Kings Move so many people dont really understand it,its not a magic " go to " move you have to earn it via pronation and in a flexion v pronation battle Devons hand and wrist was way too strong......the Kings Move starts in the hand and if you cant access your pronation through the thumb and/or rise you lose the position to Kings Move.....Devon was able to cup straight through Todds pronation and his hit every time.....infact round 4 was history being made hence Devons jubilation as nobody has ever beaten Todd in a Kings Move without straps.....he even stonewalled Todds press at one point....his forward shoulder position protected his back pressure making his centre table strength and fundamental skeletal connections just phenomenal Todd tried numerous times to slip and dump his wrist but Devon just had such confidence in his dead centre table strength he literally had nowhere to go. Its probably not an exaggeration to say Devon has shocked the arm wrestling community with this performance,on that showing i would say theres only Laletin and Levan that could beat him i notice Igor Mazurenko has put out a silly message on social media instead of being classy and simply saying " well done "......im not convinced theres ever been anyone that could beat a peak Levan but having not pulled in 18 months and on that showing it wouldnt surprise me to see Devon brutalise him in similar fashion to Todd....or maybe im just getting carried away now Bollocks to the Top 8 and PAL,infact bollocks to the WAL it looks like its going under anyway....just get these 2 men at a table it will be the most significant match in the sports history. Apologies for my enthusiasm i just found it almost orgasmic seeing a true master at work in a sport you love, brilliant Edited May 29, 2021 by gnasher16

Not to say you dont know what you're looking at boss but in terms of strength related talent it was one of the best performances you could ever witness. The Schoolboy v Larry Wheels match yes, that was an anti climax as Schoolboy pretty much just played with him.....again,an example that it takes much more than brute strength to compete at the top Larry trained his nuts off for this but the reality is he,s just not really a top level arm wrestler. gnasher16 31,602
Apologies for boring the pants off 99% of folk but im almost positive theres a couple of arm wrestling fans out there ive nattered to before....just to let you know theres a historic match coming up this weekend between the greatest puller in history John Brzenk and the latest up and coming young prospect Chance Shaw.....its a massively exciting match up as John hasnt pulled properly for a few years now after a combination of injuries and just generally being " finished " with arm wrestling he recently entered the Utah State Tournament which is always high level competition and he won it convincingly....hence was called out by Chance Shaw who has beaten some big names in the sport recently at something like 23/24 years old.....John is 57 ! For me if John Brzenk is in any kind of decent shape he will beat Shaw his hand and wrist are just too dominant and he'll open up Shaws wrist and collapse his hand....but Shaw is a fearless cocky young kid who will not be dictated where the match go's and may even dare to hook into John......for me Brzenk is the greatest sportsman in history ( if you accept arm wrestling as a sport ) and im personally so excited to see him perform again at this level. big sid 1,128
hi gnasher do you compete yourself.
gnasher16 31,602
I did for a number of years mate but eventually the level i competed at was dictated by a recurring injury,if i could of got into it at a much earlier age i think id of done well.....these days i coach/train a few people as i really enjoy the tactical mechanics to the sport which i think i have a decent understanding of.....we was one of the first gyms down south to put in arm wrestling tables, now its a growing sport i dont think it will be long before we see it at the Olympics even just as a demonstration sport at first. big sid 1,128
sorry if this is a stupid question but when training do you train the whole of your body ie legs as well as the upper body if so i presume it would be less than the upper body is that right. is their country's where its really big or are we leaders in the sport. No you dont normally train legs mate.....it go's by weight divisions so like a boxer you want to be competing at your strongest but lightest weight so a huge pair of thighs serves no purpose whatsoever....if you look at the frames of a lot of the worlds best pullers they will have big upper body development and relative light in the legs good examples would be guys like Matt Mask or Rob Vigeant Jnr......you want a strong core yes but legs dont really play much of a part. No we're way behind....countries like Canada and North America its a big deal....also many of the Scandinavian and East European countries but no its not big in Uk.......yet ! Greb147 6,810
I think Chance will take him now tbh, John has been out of the game now and the fat chink looking fcuker has been looking very good in practice, sure he was doing very well against Toddzilla. Have you heard about Michael Todd, he caught Covid and now has pneumonia, not meant to be in a good way ATM, hope he pulls through.
