I wasn’t being screened for breast cancer lol. Honestly I’ve just looked at exact dates. I contacted gp on 22nd Sep, was consulted within an hour (they phoned me, no waiting on phone in a que) and I have an mri booked for the 24th Oct! I also saw the specialist at hospital last week. A lot of folks would have been waiting that long just to see their gp before covid!

This is all obviously after the NHS stopped panicking about the pandemic and are getting on with regular healthcare again.

Im not making any political point, simply relaying my experience. Folks can do what they want with it.

It's not political for me either it's about humanlife bud.

You keep logging in to to compliment me born haha

Ring 111 mate, don't bother with surgery and tell them you've tried to get hold for a couple of days and condition is worsening.

you will have to excuse my ignorance, but isn't 111 for urgent cases , I try not watch the news life is depressing enough, so im not up to date, thing is I tried ringing the doctor yesterday for a certain prescription, the hospital put me on , but my doctor is reluctant to give them to me , cinnarizine, I honestly couldn't hang on the phone much longer, I was near passing out I was that high in the queue , not forgetting the phone bill

We got to phone make a appointment and the doctor phones you back at a allocated time .i got one of those a week later still no better the doctor phoned me back said you better come in and see me can you make it in a hour ?. i got sent to the hospital going back for a scan  and xray in a fortnight

It a silly system now you got to call from 08.30 every morning for a appointment but the phones are engaged till quarter to nine , they stopped walk in appointments six months ago now you turn up at your appointed time you got to press the buzzer to get in by the receptionist  your the only one in the surgery then after the last patient leaves the doctors got to wipe down the chair a 6 doctors surgery seeing 20 patients a day ? its nearly laugable

How NHS 111 works

You answer questions about your symptoms on the website, or by speaking to a fully trained adviser on the phone.

You can ask for a translator if you need one.

Depending on the situation you’ll:

find out what local service can help you

be connected to a nurse, emergency dentist, pharmacist or GP

get a face-to-face appointment if you need one

be told how to get any medicine you need

get self-care advice

I’ve had a lump on my knee I’ve been ignoring my wife’s been pecking my head to get it looked at my experience with the NHS is this,  I rang up Tuesday was told to ring a 7am Wednesday morning which I did the doctor then rang me at 08:20 he couldn’t deal with it over the phone I got an appointment at 09:50 cut a long story short I get an emergency scan at 09:15 at the hospital on Thursday, by 08:30 on the Friday I’ve been told I’ve got osteoarthritis in my knee and told what I’ve got do.

Considering we are in a pandemic I thought that was pretty good going maybe it’s because I haven’t had my money’s worth and they felt sorry for me my medical record is as thin as a rizla I don’t do doctors or hospital normally.

Also, sorry if I’m grouchy! I’m moving house today. Been stressful as f**k.

Am trying to get 35 years of shite from a large house ready to go onto a boat, I feel your pain but in future hopefully moving house will involve untying the ropes and firing up the engine ✌️

What was the advice get ready to walk like a duck and for the rest of your joints to slowly go as well because you now walk on one side 😂

Which makes you wonder why they get payed what they do.

Even I could ask someone their symptoms and look them up in a medical book.

If in doubt give them a course of antibiotics and you're covered.

They’ll be out of jobs soon when AI is developed enough into comprehensive diagnosis machines. There’ll be no need for gps.

Add psychopathic and mildly genocidal to that.

I think we have a communication problem most the time and I’m short tempered. F2F I reckon we’d get on well.
