Ken's Deputy 4,462
Okay. I've had a few beers and my mind Is racing a bit anyway, because I simply have a load on. But, yet another 'problem' has popped into my head. Thought I'd just ask. Right now. It's an engineering / maths sort of thing, I guess? I have a small fridge. 18" square, nominally. I want a stand for it. Top of fridge can be no more than 43". Floor it's all to stand on slopes downwards toward the back. Even I'm dimly aware that there'll be some equation, to take in the X + Y x Z = F?!* factor. I'm just, as ever, thinking ahead. Get this Dog Cage built. Make the Indoor Turtle Enclosure. Buy A Welder .... Surely this would be a great little project to cut my teeth on. Once I feel competent at welding random bits of steel together? What might be the formula for figuring those legs then, please?
Ken's Deputy 4,462
F**k me!!! And I'll be that took you a far shorter time to work out than it did me to even formulate the question! Thank You!!!
dytkos 17,953
Buy a dog cage and stand the fridge on it. Cheers, D.
walshie 2,804
No-one has asked the question why the top of the fridge can be no more than 43" high. Low ceiling perhaps?

Born Hunter 17,960
I think Pythagoras theorem is what you're looking for. That's upside down for you of course but 'b' being the length you want to know, right? So solving for 'b' means you have to calculate the square root of the difference between 'a' squared and 'c' squared. That's the technical answer. The right answer though, is Balaur's. Ken's Deputy 4,462
Sod That, Born! I wear these Crocs so I can access my toes quickly, when I run out of fingers! No; It's got to fit under a mantle shelf is what it is. Getting a bit pushed for room in here, frankly.

Use that nearly every day in my work life, makes life a lot easier knowing a bit of maths
