What paint.

Recommended Posts

I bought this cast iron kingfisher holding a fish door stop a few weeks ago.
I don’t know the age on it. But the way the paint has faded I’m thinking it must be over 60yr old.
The plan is to get it sand blasted and painted in the closest paint colour I can then laquer over it. And want the minnow coloured like a rainbow trout
What type of paint should I use ?
or can someone on here do the work for me.

That's cool as f**k mate?

As soon as I seen it for sale I had to have it mate. I don't think any keen fisherman would turn his nose at it..

I'm quite fond of the thing to be honest..

Just on the wind up mate, leave it as it is or maybe matt black?

Cheers, D.

The very few kingfishers I've seen in the wild have amazing colours.

I would like to replicate that to be honest with as close to the original colours as possible.

Seen Kanny's home made lures thread in the fishing section? Those types of paint jobs might be what you're after?
