LuckOrJudgement 437
Has anyone on here got any experience of this? Been asked to quote for one, but its a first for me. Interested in whats involved, apart from the obvious - JCB, explosives etc What else do I need to consider? All the correct licences will be obtained. Ken's Deputy 4,460
They'll stand by and allow you to blow up a mosque before a badger sett. 1 Quote Link to post
mole trapper 1,703
Back when I did my level 2 a guy was on the course who specialises in exactly this. Fascinating to listen to what was involved, a badger removal and relocation and all the digger work and then burying in the steel sheeting started at 35k but usually a lot more money than that. cragman 2,816
We did a small sett on work land. I didn’t do the paperwork side of things, a friend in the know did that. You’ll need a few badger gates to stop them re-entering. Once we were sure it was empty after monitoring, we ran concrete through it to support the steps and embankment they’d dug into. Seemed to have worked. It was a small sett so didn’t involve lots of animals Quote Link to post
dytkos 17,884
Seem to remember the cost of putting badger tunnels under a motorway cost an enormous amount of money? https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/earth/wildlife/8363736/Revealed-the-multi-million-pound-secret-transport-network-for-animals.html&ved=2ahUKEwjJ46Gpo6XrAhV0oVwKHXsVDasQFjABegQIBxAB&usg=AOvVaw28Suxt6fn8zmq9MtiCHfOc Cheers, D. LuckOrJudgement 437
A can of worms, then. In my case this Sett is in a village on my doorstep, and on public land too. From a political pespective, it would be an unwise move to get involved. Better done by someone from out of town, I reckon. Quote Link to post
