Every time my missus goes near the farm she would barge any kids out the way to feed the pet lambs and always wants to take them home ( she is 34 years old) it never stops her having it for her Sunday dinner

One of the most annoying things at lambing is when a ewe rejects her lamb for no good reason. This little lamb was rejected two days ago & been on bottle.

This morning one of the single bearing ewes looked like lambing so I grabbed the reject & a bucket!! Quick bath in some amniotic soup and "congratulations you had twins"!

What you feed them on right up until lambing mate?

I got to be honest I hate lambing, much prefer working with cows an calf’s, we spread out calf’s out all year, much less of a rush an hassle 😁😂BAF6378C-9256-4D32-B495-35855BDFBB77.jpeg.b2966edd5f1f4511c6582e3f136f77ee.jpeg284D23EA-9197-460E-9195-CAA97502E16F.jpeg.36a50dfb9a12be1eb806ef73f83a5385.jpeg69B06694-4B73-41D1-91D0-C2AFB65D3B1A.jpeg.59ba201966e4430d93bc79ed7e443852.jpeg

Lambing definitely in full swing now, had some really good lambs but also some lows (bloody triplet ewe managed to kill herself under a hayrack!) Couple of prolapse that needed strapping up but so far (huge wood touch!) going pretty well this year.

They are looking strong mate, my mate has just started started yesterday yesterday, 3 twins and 2 singles as of 9pm last night, 1 prem 4 weeks ago where ewe and lamb died, they didn’t sponge this year so hopefully it will just be steady away over the coming weeks

What made him move away from sponging? We're contemplating it for next year but never done before.

My mate who does the lambing has done it for the last two years, he said the first year it worked well and they had a couple of mad weeks and it was over and done with, the problem they had was it was when we had all the snow and they couldn’t get them out in the fields so were running out of space,  the second year it was a bit more spread out and didn’t really get any more benefit from the extra cost and having to fanny stuff 800 odd ewes, they just went back old school with the teasers this year and spread it out a bit

3 weeks old, already filling out nicely. Will weigh some next week, get an idea of 4 week weight & again at 8 weeks.
