Rez 4,961
What’s everyones thoughts on this pup then? Getting me sen a new game basher soon, and for some reason I can’t stop thinking about it. The only thing that I’m not quite feeling is the trigger guard shape and the weight, having held one. 9lbs unscoped... for a pup!? The list is, at the minute BSA Defiant, 110 carbine, Wildcat, Ultra Cayenne and the AGT Vulcan. Preferring a sporter to be honest... Any other suggestions welcome? Im going for something super small as I’ve just got a new proper roost perm, in proper dense woodland and pigeon breast is THE number one underrated game dish. It’s worth getting something new to drop the feathered sods. as an edit, love the ligature that roboto adds to the title of the post. The way the f joints the dot of the i... Quote Link to post
Jonjon79 13,358
I do like how the Defiant looks but, I'd give it a swerve purely for the spik element - it's a fair wad of cash for Gamo unreliability mate. From your list, I'd go for the Wildcat. But, if I was after a new 'pup, I'd be having a Cricket - if you've never tried one, they're well worth a look Anyway, are you properly qualified to roost shoot pigeons? ....... I've never seen any pictures of pigeon head drawings in any of your posts. I've never seen a shooting zimmer frame in your pictures. You can't just pile into these things willy nilly you know 1 1 Quote Link to post
Jonjon79 13,358
Sorry Rez - I just read your post again. I understand now mate - it's a 'read between the lines' kinda thing. Gotcha New perm', dense woodland, plenty of pigeon (because they've been safe in there until now ), you need a really small rifle. ........ I used to have a *cough* permission like that. If you can find one, an Edgun Lelya is fantastic for the job - it'll fit easily inside your coat so that your body warmth can reduce the risk of shot to shot variation caused by the cold weather Also, storing your rifle like this leaves your hands free to throw the dogs ball and carry the lead Try visiting your new 'perm' when it's raining - the pigeons will settle down on the trees and, there'll be less people around scaring them away Hope this helps mate 1 Quote Link to post
Rabid 1,936
I would go for the Vulcan, it’s head and shoulders above all the rest, Jon is right the cricket is excellent, but dare I say the Vulcan is better. Quote Link to post

philpot 5,115
I saw the BSA 'effort' before it was launched and what a crapy badly balanced crock of shite as you will see in May. I have owned two Wildcats which I thought we're a sheer pleasure to own and use. I am still enjoying the 110k, a really nice little gun. I want to try a Vulcan because I have never heard a bad word said about them. Phil 1 Quote Link to post
