Why would any air rifle hunter, target shooter want to try and do that ?

I love the challenge of getting  within 30 to 40 yards (sub 12  air gun ranges)and shoot drawing pin head groups .

I bet it is a bit of a challenge trying to sneak up on stuff while being in a hide?

But can you do a 28 mm group at 125 yards with the old bonger  :boogie:

Never shot a group to that distance with a sub 12ft/lb spring rifle Mitch....

But I'm up for having a bloody good go at it.

My HW77 .22 and Pro Sport .22 would do it.

Si , I will set them and you knock them in its that easy

Well with pcp`s, it is , even a child can shoot one, with ease !

Make it a pcp cannon and someone that has never shot an air rifle in their lives can shoot a lifeless broom stick with a telescopic sight on top

A bond you say,- oh yes we all have that and after 6 years of missing very little, the HW 100`s they can continue to live in my house.

To be honest here, if we all sat down at a range, all with our preferred pcp`s i don`t think there would be that much difference between the cards, except for Big Mac`s and Villaman`s

Same again, with spring rifles of your preference, i would think a far greater divide on the cards would be evident ?

Maybe i`m wrong but a £2000 + pcp is way better than an every day HW 100 / BSA Ultra etc, etc "in the hunting field" and warrants all that extra dosh ?

                    For me, -  No .

Whatever your rig, if you are shooting well with it, stick with it.

That's the thing. Accuracy at what price?

If you spend £2,000 for a rifle and achieve one hole accuracy, pellet on pellet? Fine!

But my Air Arms Pro Sport .22 is just as accurate and cost me a little over a quarter of that value. £550.

Consistency? The Pro Sport will do it all day long in my shoulder. As will my £500 HW77 .22.

And so will my HW80 and the HW97K .177 I sold to Mark a few months ago.

Philpot's .177 Air Arms TX200HC was a joy to shoot and a phenomenal accurate underlever. I will never forget shooting it for myself. And that was a right handed rifle in my left hand and shoulder. Pellet hole on pellet accuracy at 40 yards in my garden range. No sweat! Sweet as a nut.

Just what does a couple of thousand quid buy, that about 500 quid doesn't?

A lifeless half-click of trigger bite? Nothing back at the shoulder? The satisfaction of knowing you composed and performed your shot to perfection on your target?

Must be something extra special about it surely!

Can't see it myself lads. Not at that price.

I kind of agree with you Simon at sub 12 ,  but in FAC level different kettle of fish  with all the adjustments you can make to suit the pellet you are using is just so good .

Heres some thing the target king may not know (mark)

but at one time the hw97k or kt was made as an fac rifle and if you ask hw

to send you an fac (expert spring ) they will

same as the hw80 it was only fac at one time

when they where sent to hull cartridge they had to un fac them  to sub 12

and hitting a target at 100yrds was not a problem to ether rifle

so stick that in your pipe and smoke it marko

put a hw97 in my hands of any cal and ill out shoot you shot for shot

iv shot 97,,,s since i was a kid

range shooting as well as hunting i know them inside out

yes iv spent up to £2000 on an impact and scopes and so on in sub 12

but i like the rifle and the 600 shots a fill it gives me

im still trying to get to terms with it

but ill get there

and its as good as a hw100 just better shot count
