Speed Camera Question.

Last week after finishing work a few vans including my own set off home north from South Luffenham which is near Oakham.

We go to South Yorkshire up the A1, anyone who's driven there will know there's a speed camera around a mile past the A52 turn off. It's down a hill and it's a gatso from what i believe.

Now I've driven past it for years at 70mph and had no comebacks, well last week we went through it at our usual speed of 70mph and was flashed. One of the lads vans was just behind us so they got flashed too and another van did a minute or so behind.

Thing is though today those two lads have had their tickets come through yet for some reason we haven't.

Now i know in a van that stretch of A1 should be 60mph but I've always guessed a camera can't distinguish between a car and a van so I've always gone through at 70mph and never had any comebacks.

What the hell has happened here cos i don't have a clue?

I was in the passenger seat so I'm alright but how could we have got away with it if the other van that was on our tail was doing the same speed and was busted.

And why have they just been busted after months of doing the same speed through the same camera?

They should really let you off, its totally understandable wanting to minimise your time around Grantham!

This has really puzzled me, what the f**k is going off here. Who do i ring to make an enquiry?

So you've been let off but your going to appeal lol .Probably seen your form on here and saving them up for one big sting .Embarrassment tax .

No I'm going to make a phone call pretending to be the unfortunate party, i want to get to the bottom of it.

Do you have the number because I've heard you're on good terms with the law?

Just read your post again and realised its dual carriageway so 60 limit. Was your mates van close enough to you to obscure your plate?

No, we were just infront of them but a woman shot past in a car just before us and may have set it off if she went past faster than 70mph? 

That still doesn't explain the other van that was a minute or so behind us that's also got a ticket.

If it had been reactivated then I'm f****d because i went through it twice since at 70mph, i made sure to look though the mirror on Sunday morning after work and the camera didn't flash. We shall see very shortly.
