Galvanised steel walkway is good stuff and can be bought for a decent price.

It is a bit overkill for ferrets but It will last year's and you have piece of mind that it won't fail

Its a great size for a hutch 3 foot by 4 foot inch welded mesh  when the cabins rot the mesh is still solid , some times they take them off so they can open the window , if you dont ask you dont get
