First go at elderflower cordal

Went flower picking with my daughter as she wanted to have a go at cordial 

she enjoyed making it and it tastes ok !

                  Out and about the fields/ wildlife instead of face book, games, telly or phones.

A big jug of flowers all pulled off the storks using a fork 

4 lemon rinds and juice 

1kg of sugar 

A good dollop of honey 

and 3l of water left it to mash for 3 hours then sive and bottle

Great job there. Me and my daughter made some at the weekend and we found it too syrupy and not very elderflower. So obviously need to tweak things

Thanks very, it looks good, any idea what quantity/weight if elderflowers you'd need for your recipe?

zest of 2 lemons and oranges,to every 500ml of liquid add in 350g of sugar 50ml lemon juice and a heaped tea spoon of tartaric acid each time.i filled a black plastic bag full of elderflowers,and  roughly got 12 bottles.

I make elderflower champagne most years but give me that bottle of plum poteen anyday. Lovely stuff.
