Blackbriar 8,569
I was watching "Private lives of the Tudors" this afto. Apparently, because whale bone was so prized for corsetry in times gone by, all beached whales are the property of the monarch, to this day !
scothunter 12,609
Yea if my memory serves me right. Im sure its the Accention islands they used to cut them up. Its like the Buffalo and bison. We very near wiped them out.Whale oil basically drove our world back then. Its when the old whaler said "when we hit them they made a noise. They cried really " There something about whales far more connected than they let on lol

jukel123 9,285
Watched it. Leith used to be a whaling area. They still have old guns etc on display on the dockside. One guy in the documentary said the whalers who set sail in open boats to hunt whales "were iron men". He got that right.
