MOLE265 792
A killing spree by foxes stalking a Meirionnydd valley has prompted a desperate call to action by a sheep farmer who is losing more than one lamb every day. Since his lambing season began three weeks ago, Meirion Jones has collected 27 carcases from his fields at Cwm Mynach Isa farm, Bontddu, Dolgellau. Two more lambs were rescued with severe head puncture wounds but are unlikely to survive despite intensive nursing. Mr Jones, 67, said the foxes are harbouring in the adjacent Coed Cwm Mynach, a 1,000-acre woodland owned and managed by Coed Coed (the Woodland Trust). Neighbouring farmers have offered to help him flush out and shoot the rogue foxes, which have so far cost Mr Jones almost £1,000 in lost revenue. rob284 1,682
I know of a few terrier lads in that area, shame the law restricts us to game bird protection. 2 Quote Link to post

Rabbit Hunter 6,613
It's very rugged land down there, with the mountains and dense forestry I can imagine it's difficult to keep on top of the foxes. I'll be down that way this coming season again. I'm sure the terrier lads there will do their best to help too. Quote Link to post
Aussie Whip 4,243
We have a bad fox problem over here, with foxes packing together like dogs or wolves and causing large lamb losses in my area.Even had a pack of four come right up to the dog runs.Never seen this behaviour before. terryd 8,785
Would not a nice heavy snaring operation be most effective ? 1 Quote Link to post
shovel leaner 7,650
I know it's a sore subject for working terrier folk , but if the woodland trust won't let anyone with a gun pack do a "fox drive " . Then Night vision shooting and snares would be the way to go . A lot of very clued up lads around that way , I'm surprised it's still going on ? Quote Link to post
