Hi All, New here just joined but thought i'd add this.

 

Moved to Germany last year, been an air rifle shooter for years ( ex army got to keep your eye in) love shooting rabbit and pigeon.

 

So last weekend at my shoot ( local farmer in the village lets me shoot on his land as long as i share the bag ) had a good day about 12 Rabbit and a couple of pigeon ( using HW .22 and also my new Diana K98 great gun) arrived at the car to find the local Police (Blue and white in Germany Green and white are state police). They said hello and then Chrono'd my guns!!!

 

Bad news UK spec so about 12 ft/lbs ( 15-16 Joules) Germany Law is 7.5 Joules. Both guns taken away and i have to pay to get them de-tuned.

 

So if your taking a shooting holiday be careful guys this has cost me about £250.

It sounds like that took it as a genuine mistake mate

 

........ I reckon they would have permanently confiscated over here if they'd been found to be a couple ftlb over.

I only heard about the reduced fpe in Germany a few months ago, a bit of a bummer as 6fpe is not ideal for hunting so what do the Germans do I wonder.

Stupid thing is (if your a springer not PCP) you can walk into any gun shop and buy an "exporter" spring that takes your rifle to 20 Joules and they don't ask to see your Waffenbesitzkarte (FAC to us)
