went out today just local not plenty about but a few on a field which was drilled 2 weeks ago walked about 800 yards with the decoy gear got set up with 28 decoys no dead birds (still in freezer) the birds started returning about 2 pm added a turbo flapper and a couple of floaters steady few hours ended with 26 pigeons the pup retrieved well to day and is coming on nicely

A long way to walk but at least you got some pigeons after it.Pup looks as though it wants to stay out longer.

had a few decent bags on drill this time but everything is up now. dont bother with any flappers or spinners on brown fields though.If they are there they cant miss seeing the decoys.

Spent 6 hrs today 600 acres , 4 of the fields are Brown, the rest , rape , corn , grass

Brown fields dont mean pigeons unfortunately. Most drilling now is too good anyway but Ive seen pigeons ignore wheat all over the top of a field and fly over to feed elsewhere. They are fickle things pigeon. take it as it comes with them I say,they are a wild bird after all.

800yds, quite a walk. My buddy has modified an electric golf cart and says it is a real back saver, I suppose it depends on the terrain though.
