gnasher16 30,714
Whenever the underdog excels in a fight he is fully expected to lose you get people who say he deserved the win for the effort he put in.......the reality is a fighter who spends 90 % of a fight on the back foot and at no point in the fight hurts his man hasnt done enough to win......that was the poorest ive ever seen Golovkin box and he still beat the next best fighter in his division reasonably comfortably,on that showing Golovkin seemed to be over confident in his physical strength both taking shots and thinking he can just walk the opponent down and land.....what happened to the way he usually glides in and out of range he didnt show any of the footwork that his power comes from he looked flat and not motivated i dont think he is on the slide i just think he needs to get back to doing the things that got him where he is. I think people have the mentality that because he survived and gave Golovkin a little trouble he automatically wins the fight. Jacobs was out landed, floored and wobbled on a few occasions, he lost the fight even though Golovkin looked far from his best. I lost a bit of respect for Jacobs with the shenanigans he pulled on fight day when he shunned the IBF same day weigh-in, rumours are he weighed 180-190lb in the ring. I believe Golovkin is on the slide but that was still enough to beat the next best Middleweight who was huge on fight night, Canelo wouldn't pose the same problems for GGG IMO. Yep you got it........we used to say an underdog has an advantage with the judges before he even starts as that mindset is just human nature.......the whole weigh in thing is a joke he should of been forced to weigh in or not allowed to fight......or else why have check weights they should be compulsory. You think Canelo would do well with Golovkin ? or not i couldnt quite work out what you meant ? On that display last night i honestly feel a fit and focused Billy Joe Saunders might of nicked the win Bill can stick to a hit and hop it plan for the full 12 rounds...and he takes a good shot......trouble is id be surprised if we ever see Golovkin perform as badly as that again. With today's medical testing I think we definitely need to go back to same day weigh-ins, the fight game is a joke when someone can be 20lb+ heavier in the ring come fight night. No I don't think Canelo would beat Golovkin, he hasn't got the length or footwork to keep him off. On that performance BJS would have a shot but he looked shite in his last outing and isn't on the same level of Jacobs imo.

All fighters are entitled to a bad night Bill had one last time out and had his reasons Golovkin also i agree im not sure Canelo can trouble Golovkin he is a throwback for me to when fighters were predominantly tough rugged men but he cant rely on that as long as he go,s back to the technical ability he,s showed in past fights i think he would destroy Canelo........yep never mind same day weigh ins id have scales in the ring if i had my way i cant see any reason not to weigh them in before the fight and have fighters at their true weight and health.

MickC 1,825
Canelo does not have the movement and is to stationary to beat GGG.I think GGG stops Canelo and also Jacobs would beat him.
