Archie Darby Dog Attack

Recommended Posts

Some people dont realise what a dog is capable of. I wouldnt be confident my mrs could get my terrier off another dog if they were fighting and shes pretty decent with the dogs but how do these people think they could control/restrain/break a 50lb bull type off a child or similar?

Cheers, D.

I'd never leave my mrs alone with my terrier & the kids, ever! I know full well she couldn't handle a situation. My pat has been reared with the kids from 7 weeks & he's been as good as gold, but he's never had a second alone with them. He's the strongest terrier I've had. Some may think I'm paranoid & I'm nowhere near as relaxed as my parents were. I just won't take any risk with them.

I can't stand seeing these pics of kids climbing all over dogs, it makes me fcuking wince! Each to there own, but not my kids, ever....not while they are little.

My kids always got personal with dogs when they were young but I was always aware of what was happening.

People nowadays dont seem to be aware of jack shit as far as dogs are concerned ( pet owners of "exotic" breeds especially)

I can't bring myself to have a dog living in the house,it's all very well saying you'll never take your eye off them, but it's just not possible imo,you going to take the dog or the child with you to the toilet?

Or put the dog in a room and lock the door every time you leave the room?

And the same for in the morning before you wake up?

Maybe for older kids it'd be ok,but I'd live in permanent worry at the moment.

I have a labrador and watching him wreck beef bones is quite amazing. I once made the stupid mistake of giving him a pigs foot, he decimated it within seconds, I was picking bits of claw and bone out of the rug for ages. If he has very powerful jams I would hate to see what some of them more powerful dogs are capable of.

My dog is outside all day & in a crate in the house at night. Never alone with the kids or loose around the house. I think the same as you on this matter. Edited by Accip74

If your going to have dogs in the house then the kids need training as much as the dogs.

My boy knows not to fcuk about & the dog definitely knows the score! Haha.........but that's what these people think that end up with a tragedy. I just can't imagine the horror. I know it won't happen me though. It's only this last month my dogs got anywhere near my 15 month old girl.

i cant stand the pictures of kids sitting on the back of big dogs . Their not a f***ing toy and its not cute . My dog is quite big 70+cm to shoudlers and the amount of people when they see him laugh at his size and ask if the kids ride him is crazy . Must be 75% of them thinks its ok for young kids to ride a dog like a horse
