My New Rod

Recommended Posts

Having broken the tip on my Grays I contacted about a replacement. Unfortunately they could not replace as time has passed. On an earlier post, some of you guys suggested the repair which I have done and am pleased. HOWEVER? My new Hardy 9'6" -# 7 is absolutely the bollocks. Reason being that the TD7 was not available and would I accept something comparable. Can't wait to get out with it. They also offered me me a pro Hardy but to be honest, I probably wouldn't know the difference. Now I am the proud owner of a repaired Grays 9' and the new Hardy 9'6". Look out you trout.jok.

Nope. They reckoned that they no longer made this 3 piece and it has been superseded by the T7. Anyway the new Hardy is a joy. Slightly different action but light and very powerful. Loving it. Jok.

i be honest mate right or wrong i buy USA rods they replace free of charge pap , broke a reddington rod and they replace top of the range, same as sage i broke a 9 saltwater in a cieling fan rod was 6 yr old and they replaced in a month just letting you know , they laziest rod company in the uk is hardy fkn useless i broke a hardy brook rod 4 w and the bellied up on me ,, ive broke a few over the years , it happens , uk rod firms wont give but USA rods give better than the rod that you broke , strange but true , even with reels,,,, i can send a tibor half way round the world for a free service uk reels will laugh at a free service atb

Anything beats split cane and greenheart lol. Thing is I didn't know where to go originally and when you get a Fishtec. Catalogue through your door it made life easier. At the time I wouldn't have thought about America. However all's well that ends well. Jok.

My first fly rod was a greenheart :) I can still remember catching my first river brownie and rushing back with it to the cottage we were staying at.

I have Hardy sovereigns but they're old and anything modern will be better and lighter I imagine. My dad has a couple of Angels but they are very stiff and not good for anyone with shoulder or wrist problems.

I could really do with a new reel as mine are knackered and my lines are about 7 years old lol
