Well it has taken a long time to come through but at last my FAC ticket arrived which mean't I was able to collect the Rapid Mk2 .22 FAC which has been held for me for the past 3 or 4 months.

 

I also got a set of Theoben scope mounts and shims, I do need some longer set screws if the shims are needed however.

 

 

 

 

The stock has checkering which caught me out as I thought there was none, so I will have to think whether or not to stipple the grip and forend. The nasty varnish is deffo coming off and possibly the green stain that Nath does or just oiled, not going to jump into that just yet however.

28ft/lb but have not had it on the chrono yet, I can always tweek it a touch if need be but in truth I am very tempted to ask KevG take a look at it once I have had the time to run it a while which won't be until after I get back from Suffolk in a weeks time then off to the range for a days shooting. I'm going to try it with AA fields (because I have a tin full) and FAP to start with then start to look at others after I have a yard stick to measure by.

Forgot to mention I owned my fac airgun sub 12 and had it sorted and put it on ticket, but it's taste in pellets changed big time. It used to love air arms field but does t anymore. It now loves biz mags and air arms field plus.

Leave it at 28ftlb. Anything over is a waste of air.

As for pellets. JSB heavies do the job

I think the FAP pellets may have to stay in the tin with a few words of wisdom, heavy pellets seem to be the order of the day then chaps.

I wouldn't give that a second thought Jimmy, they have no appeal to me at all, done that, been there many many years ago, not for me. If the air rifle and shotty doesn't do the job, then I will leave it for someone else.

 

An FAC air is as extreme as I want to go.
