I went in for a 97 but came out with the tx

This is mint. Its great getting new stuff, especially brand spankin stuff like that.

No not given up yet Jimmy, not in love with it but more than that just having a laugh. I do think I made a mistake buying a springer to be honest, I am just not having a 'bond' with the gun and would never take it hunting. It is a challenge on the range and that is all it would ever get used for.

 

When it was first delivered and I opened the box to see this super dark lump of wood which as already said on another post, really p1ssed me off after seeing and testing a lighter wood TX, as all the demo guns were that I saw. I couldn't walk away from it as it was ordered in for me, had I seen it in a shop, I would have just walked on by and bought something else but because it was new, I have been very nervous about messing with it. Just like the tuning aspect, Mark went Ratworks route and is very happy with the outcome, others have done a drop in kit themselves whereas I am not brave enough to do these things.

 

Being retired, I do have to watch the cash flow and with that in mind, spending more money on a gun, tuning it when I am just not loving it just made me stick it in the cupboard and forget it. Perhaps giving it a face lift with lightening the stock would kick start my interest in it.

Phil if you really wanted to try with the tx after giving it a tune, send it me and I will do it for you free of charge, I personally dont like the slow firing cycle on the new tx its a little slow for me, I prefer a quicker lock time, I would think you would much prefer it with a TBT short stroke kit installed, there really is not a huge amount to do to improve the internals of a tx the piston runs on synthetic bearings, however, a good spring ends polish,and a proper re-lube combined with the short stroke kit changes the feel quite a bit, anyway the offer is there mate.

The T Rex is one of the least hold sensitive springers from standard, the short stroke improved that even more.

I`m shooting .177 cal with the T Rex remember, which normally amplifies the recoil compared to .22.

 

 

 

Without doubt, the T X 200 mk 3 is a must keep , also , she is a " must practice" as are all springers.

 

 

Stick with her , she will pay you back.

I've only just recently got myself a tx200, and as far as the gun goes I'm happy, it's a second hand mk2, so not a flashy mk3, just on the look out for a decent scope and I know I'll be putting food on the table, and yes shes a bit heavy, but as was once said "heavy is good, and if it does not work you can always hit him with it"

it will come back a different rifle ,,,next to no recoil,,,,, smoother to cock ,,,, with no noise coming from the cocking action,,,,and a quicker loading cycle....and a smoother firing stroke .

just bite the bullet and do it .

 

all your going to have to buy is a kit for it .

 

Then ill come down to yours and do the stock for you at yours so you can see how easy it is to do a walnut stock

 

Im going to do little hunters but im not putting a kit in it im just going to polish the shit out of it like i do all of the springers iv had .

 

And before all you lot come on and say the tx200 dose not benefit from a tune well you keep thinking that as me and Sean(vizlauk) have been tuning and polishing them for years and yes they do benefit from a tune and polish .

 

JUST ASK MARK WILLIAMS he was not a believer until he got his tuned and polished

Jimmy, I do love you mate, you are always welcome to come and stay, we have a spare bedroom in the cottage so that is no issue and we can talk about that later, if the pigeon are still around, I will take you out with the shot gun but in fairness there are only a few floating around but we can sort something even if it is a session on the clays.

 

Collectively you have given me the desire to get my TX into a gun I can love and I THANK YOU FOR THAT because sometimes it takes someone else to give a boost to get the spirit lifted again, so good on you boys.

 

Scope is taken care of as I have a Hawke Varmint for the TX which is a very nice scope so no worries there.
