Morning Out

A good morning out

Had a good walk out on some new permission this morning, before going out with the family in the afternoon.

Boxed up three ferrets, grabbed the long net and dog and off we went. Pretty grey day this morning, but dry and I like that. Got to the spot nice and sharp, got me all loaded up and loosed the dog and it was not long before he was marking a small set. Set up the long net in the direction I thought they would bolt, leaving a wide open end for the dog to run. Quickly accounted for one in there and off we went to another mark a bit further on. Dog nailed one here not too far out of the hole, another bolted into the long net.

As we were moving down the field, Snipe went off into some long rushes, I couldn’t see him in there, they were that tall, and he came out with one, I was chuffed with that.

Snipe marked 100% and accounted for 5 out of 8, 3 netted.

Really enjoyed the morning, especially when the farmer came over to see me just as one was netted and then gave me some more land to go on, so happy daysJ. Met another older man also who had a bit chat with me and enjoyed to see me out catching rabbits J

All in all, a good morning out J J J

Some pics attached, but the light was bad, so did not take many.

Good evening my friend. Clearly having a good start. Hope all is going well with the birds as well. Nice surprise yet again the other morning. Loud squeal at 6.45am ...grandad...there's a lot of dead things at the door. 52 rabbits, I fallow and 10 mallard. Now that's a nice wake up call. Bit of work to do though. Jok.
