To Shoot Or Not To Shoot .......

There were 6 of these on my permission today. They would have presented a very east target - I was able to walk within 6ft of them.

 

But, I wasn't 100% sure if they were legal quarry so, I let them be.

 

I'd say they're white doves. Perhaps just a collard dove with a different pigment.

 

They didn't have any rings on their legs.

 

Any advice/opinions appreciated :thumbs:

I was close enough for a good look and, I couldn't see any other markings at all, not even a faint yellow collar - they were pure white, shaped like a feral.

 

Ah well, I'll leave them. There's plenty more quarry to go for down there.

Anyway, taking something that easy would just be target practice - it wouldn't feel very sporting.

like you say....it wouldn't be that sporting to shoot them at that range, like others have said, leave them be, they probably belong to someones dovecote,
