Got The Nite Site Viper/cheers Daz

Recommended Posts

It should have come with ND filters Jimmy (shades of grey) which have no colour cast. I have looked for some but not so easy to get hold of. On the new NV units they have now got screen brightness control so you can reduce it right down. My mate has one and loves it.

Going to try the lamping again in about an hour so fingers crossed.

You'll do just fine with it

Once you get your ranges sussed you'll be well away - I don't think you'll ever use a lamp again ;)

I'm probably ok with it because it's all I've used. I've never used a lamp.

I take a lightweight shooting stick (£7ish from eBay) and rest the gun on that to scan or, I have my Ledray 1000 torch on paracord, round my neck. The torch its self, rests on the drawstring, inside my dpm smock. I sometimes rest my rifle on this - it sits quite stable just at the bottom of my ribs.

I find it good for stalking in because the rifle is already in the aim, ready for the shot

Range finding can be a bitch - I miss a few smaller rabbits because they look further away :D

Persevere mate. It'll click all of sudden one day.

If you're good with a lamp, you'll be feckin awesome with NV :thumbs:
