AKA-BRINDLE 879
Only really felt the bite of the recession(if you could call it that) from 2009-2011...kept working but not a lot around and money dropped...money+prices still not really got back to pre 2008 levels in my area...didnt affect me dogs one bit...but from what i can see it did have an impact on the kinda dogs i was into as far as the internet goes...back before 2008 these forums seemed full of breeders selling dogs...flybynightchancers talking about breeding their own lines...adding a kennel affix to their backyard scatter bred mutts and filling their own little web pages with pictures of famous long gone ancestors...and filling these forums with posts hyping up future litters...wonder where all these breeders are today??...probably out of those dogs to become experts in a completely different breed. eastcoast 4,504
Political. I don't like politics. But this is interesting and a bit annoying. Some people have not experienced recession it would seem. Well done, lucky for some, good luck. Others could argue that they have lived in a recession since the 1980's. An entire industry was destroyed in England during that decade and these areas have never recovered. A bit pathetic maybe ? A man has a duty to himself, and more importantly to his family, to find a job and provide . But if the industry is taken away and thousands of others are in the same situation then it isn't that easy. That never effected me, I was lucky. The English, the Irish, the Welsh and the Scot's have always had talents and skills that foreign nations will pay a premium for. But what price being able to walk out with your dogs on a hill or a field on these tiny beautiful little Islands that separate us from the rest of the world ? Some things are priceless. It can be these things that keep us sane even during the bad times. Maybe that was what jiggy was alluding to ? 1 Quote Link to post

fat man 4,741
Yeah scaffolding has all ways payed my bills and in this day and age it seems that it's a very good job to do every one needs it Was scaffolding for 22 years, loved every minute of it even in the bad weather but once you cross the 50 mark it all gets a lot harder so i opted for an easier life but have to say made right good money at the scaffolding.
