Bloody Barbed Wire!

Recommended Posts

Got up this morning at 2.15am to drive down to meet my father in law on the soth downs to have a good mooch with the dogs before it got too hot.

Parked the motors ,let the dogs out and starting walking up the path. About 6 minutes later ,the deerhound bitch see a rabbit in the field to our left. Up she went straight over the fence. Looked like she just clipped the barbed wire and ran off. The rabbit was gone straight away and my bitch came back after a few minutes. Had a quick check of her and saw she was bleeding from her chest. I could'nt see too much so got her home and laid her down and had a proper look. The result was a great dirty 10 inch tear to her chest.

Just got back from the vets and she's there being stitched up. Estimated cost £500 so well happy!

Thing that pisses me off is the fence was only about 3ft high she can jump that with her eyes shut!

Could'nt get a decent photo,it looks a lot worse than this photo shows

Just got off the phone to the vets

It had, sliced through the muscle underneath and had 10 stitches

Not the worst by all means but certainty warranted seeing a vet

I know my limitations when it comes to treating my animals.

For the sake of a few hundred quid she will be better all the sooner ready for the season

Cheers fellas

Good call fella. If you're not sure then it's gotta be the vets.

It can't if you want it to heal properly!
