Rescue On Brecon Beacons.

It's a big old place up there and if that fog drops you are f****d ! very silly weather to be up there

Heard they are doing their Duke of Edinburogh Awards. Surely the facilitatirs/Teachers will keep them safe.
Usually on your own for D of E. I was anyway.

I mean on your own as in without a teacher or guardian. I. Sure there was 6 of us.

I used to work at a college with young people and was going to do the training for D of E. Wish I did though as I am constantly getting lost.

Dodgy place to leave teenagers alone, weather has been terrible here but up there sounds like can be life threatening. Parents have probably signed consent forms and agreed. I gotta 14 year old but wouldn't want him left up there to fend for himself. One slip and it can become an emergency situation. That's even with a guide. Hope they are all safe and have a goid story to tell their kids.

We used to play and camp up there as kids come rain shine hail or fog lol ... I think if your raised doing that your whole life then it's not seen as anything out of the ordinary ... They must do something similar to the D of E thing where I live now as I often see gangs of disheveled kids dragging wet rucksacks behind them trying to follow a map lol .......

Yeh very true mate. I've been caught on the moors when fog has dropped and it's not nice. Nothing like them beacons though.

All found safe and sound.

We are pleased to confirm that following the search and rescue operation on the Brecon Beacons this afternoon, all 26 members of the party involved have been accounted for.

The Mountain Rescue Team and the Coastguards helicopter crew are to be thanked for this successful search and rescue operation.

Same here Ken, it wasn't camping unless it took 6 of you to hold the tent while one hit a peg in. Always blowing like a good un. LOL

These kids were from Hertfordshire so not really used to it lol.
