Greyman 32,265
When pelts were worth money in the 1980,s I used to lamp regularly on Clifton downs in the middle of Bristol, bit strange hunting, while all the revellers were wobbling home only a few yards from us totally unaware of our presence, also took over £400 worth of pelts one winter off the local school fields by hanging snares along the bottom of the school fence, they were just folded up out the way during the day and lowered down every night, many times you could feel the first ones hitting the snares before you had put the rest down, they were after the pig bins that used to be outside of every kitchen in those days, happy hunting

Mister Gain 1,764
used to take quite a few on the old railway sidings round grove park and hither green, lots of the big parks and cemeteries (camberwell old cemetery always had a few) and even some of the car parks round the estates (up behind leegate near the railway always a good spot). See quite a few when I walk the dog in the early hours around here (near to Yorkshire Grey/McDonalds and Sutcliffe Park, Eltham). Nothing unusual to see 5-6 whilst walking around. Saw 5 one morning on Eltham Green last winter, and some are really brazen, I've had them come over to within about 15-20 feet of me, the dog goes loopy. Had one follow us one morning and over mark every place my dog had pissed. Railway embankments are popular places for them to earth, I used to be a freight train driver based at Hither Green and used to see loads especially during the night. Even bowled over a dog and vixen, which were knotted in the middle of the track, with a 2000 tonne aggregate train near New Eltham.
