Underdog 2,337
Found this and thought it may help?? symptom_chart.jpeg Really am finding this interesting... Yep, when my cp1 co2 gas is running out my shots go right. My trigger finger has more influence on the longer barrel time. Quote Link to post
Underdog 2,337
I managed a few shots this morning before going out on mole patrol. Five shots, left handed, 8 metres........ The lower shot was the last one of the five and spoiled the grouping. Then I moved back to 10 metres and fired another five at the same target. All over the place so I must have been doing something different that time. Coypu Hunter; I have had a few CO2 rifles in the past: 1077, QS78 & QS79 and I've given them a good try, but they don't suit me or what I want to use the gun for. Thanks to all for the advice so far. Looks good to me. Quote Link to post
Nicepix 5,650
Coypu Hunter; I have had a few CO2 rifles in the past: 1077, QS78 & QS79 and I've given them a good try, but they don't suit me or what I want to use the gun for. I use mine for shooting rats in cage traps, which is why I mentioned it... Yes, I understand the reasoning. But to be fair anything other than a Gat gun will suffice for the caged rats at point blank range and I fancied a bit of garden or indoor target shooting and plinking with the firm's gun. The problem I had with all the CO2 guns was the inconsistency of power output. The QS79 was better due to the oversized and expensive gas bottle, the QS78 had two capsules and was OK unless you left it any length of time and / or used it for four or five quick shots (rook squabbing or ratting for instance) and the 1077 was virtually useless. First two went off like a .303, 10 or 12 decent shots then the power level dropped off a cliff. I had it tuned and modified but it was still unreliable. For what I want a springer is the way to go. Random: Thanks for that. Very interesting Quote Link to post

It is quite firm at the moment. Quote Link to post
Underdog 2,337
A fine trigger on a pistol is more important than a rifle......kind of ? Quote Link to post
Nicepix 5,650
A fine trigger on a pistol is more important than a rifle......kind of Sage words indeed. I loosened the second stage and gave it a try. Not at a target as it was howling it down and blowing a gale so I just shot up the garden to get the feel of the trigger's release point. Much better, but a tad too far so I backed it off a little and it now seems just right. Just enough resistance on the second stage to rest my finger on and not too much to cause undue pressure when fired. Busy day tomorrow, but should get some more quality time me before the weekend. On another note I went past a gunshop today, but this being France it was closed as many shops are on a Monday. I was hoping to get some H&N Match Green pellets for it as the previous owner said that they worked well in it. I don't want to use too many of my stach of AA Express as I can't get them over here and they need to be reserved for the Pro Sport. Ideally I would like some JSB RS but I can't see any local shops selling them either. Its all Gammo or H&N. Edited June 13, 2016 by Nicepix Quote Link to post
treecreeper 1,136
Can you not get pellets delivered to France? I know there's some daft rule about no free postage. I use these in my pistol although it's not been out the cupboard for a while. http://www.countrywaygunshop.co.uk/product/rws-r10-match-pistol-177-pellets/ Quote Link to post
Nicepix 5,650
Yes, pellets can be delivered here. The price of postage and the risk of damage in transit isn't worth it. I'll wait until October and get my friend to pick some up from Ramsbottoms when he drives over to visit family. Quote Link to post
Underdog 2,337
Can you still have muzzleloaders and 22 without a licence in France? Quote Link to post
Nicepix 5,650
For any air rifle over 20 Joules and powder burners, rifles and shotguns, you need a permit. That entails either being a member of a shooting club - clays or target for example, or passing the Permis de Chasse exam and joining a local chasseurs group. Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Give the barrel a clean, and don't take to long with your shots, or you'll get a wobble on. 1 Quote Link to post
Nicepix 5,650
Give the barrel a clean, and don't take to long with your shots, or you'll get a wobble on. Barrel is spotless. The pistol came from a target shooting enthusiast who also likes a bit of retro. I know what you mean abut the delay in acquiring the target and shooting. At the moment its more like a yoga class than shooting. Breathing and relaxing is what it is all about. 1 Quote Link to post

The wobble is because it's not a normal position to hold your arms out straight for any length of time, unless your training to become a zombi. Quote Link to post
Underdog 2,337
Can you use archery equipment to hunt? Quote Link to post
Nicepix 5,650
Definitely a wobble on today. This little pistol is addictive and I reckon that the speed of shooting and re-loading means that my arm becomes fatigued after a couple of 5 shot rounds. I'm going to have to steady up. I've been trying different trigger adjustments. Unfortunately there is a gnat's cock from a firm pull to a definite second stage with light release. The former gives a pull to the right. Once I get this aspect right I'm sure that I'll be able to get 2cm groups at 10 metres. It is shooting slightly high which seems to be a common fault with this type of gun. The solution is to raise the height of the front blade by around 2mm using a sight bead or building up the blade using epoxy. I'm really enjoying this new type of shooting and given that I won't be able to use the rifle for hunting this little pistol will provide hours of fun. I can fit a 10 metre range in the basement so it will be good for those cold, wet winter days. Quote Link to post
