Windy As F#*k!

Recommended Posts

Well, being monumentally busy with work I've not managed any hunting for a while so a short day and no rain meant I could get out for a couple of hours.

the wind had picked up and the perm I was on is right on the coast so very windy.

After a relatively easy dove sat crapping in the grain store I had a wander down the hedge line and saw a few bunnies about but the wind was gusting so what should have been a virtually guaranteed 45 yarder could have been a careless shot injuring the animal so I wanted to get right on top of them tonight before squeezing the shot off.

P#*'s wet through, thistled, brambled and nettled

but 3 well stalked safe as houses 25 yarders for the hw.

Far better to apply field craft and bag a few than injure everything you see.

I think in honesty a part of us shooter/Ferreter types enjoys crawling around in the undergrowth getting prickled, stung and wet,a nice splinter or scratch adds to the drama of the story!!

Fair play on the stalking though, resiting temptation paid off with something in the bag...

I totally agree pal, even though my thigh looked like the victim of a bengal tiger attack this morning from some particularly aggressive bramble that I managed to somehow silently drag 20 yards underneath me while stalking....

It's well worth it though.
