Somewhereyournot 1,117
As for reverse crosses,,,I don't get it.... Every lurcher needs some speed,,,to catch stuff,,,and them reverse crosses are going to get left behind,,,no point in going more than 1/2 cross,,,in fact I think that's two much... Most lurchers with a bit of collie are bright as buttons,,,and learn quick and can do anything a half cross can,,,,possibly with the exception of working a gate net in the true way,,,,but how many lads do that? Then other chaps say ,,,you loose staminar going more running dog than half cros,,,really? I've yet to see that,,, i don't get it either Link to post
king 12,030
So you slagging me off is OK then lol.if I get shit I will throw it back mate. Ive got my dogs for me I will work my dogs 95% of the Time alone. Just me and the dogs.and yea I will put some posts on here about the nights lamping on rabbits next season. Maybe we could meet up next season and I will bring my least fat dog for a nights lamping. And we can both laugh together when my dog misses every rabbit all night lol i put a post on about 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie not a Hancock thread, you jumped up and started saying shit about him. Didn't ask anyone there opinion on Hancock dogs did I ? NopeWe can argue all day mate its pointless.Be patient a pup from workers will come up.i don't wish you bad luck quite the opposite in fact I wish all dog lads good luck.but like I said if I get shit I will fire back no problem. I think you've got a dog now.why not buy a bitch and start your own line. Link to post

Somewhereyournot 1,117
If you were going to start a "working line" like everyone says then the line should atleast start with two first class dogs not just a good bitch. I'm not naive enough to think my dog is exceptional. Far from it in actual fact. To get two first class animals in the field it's not an over night thing, and I want a dog for now not 10 years down the line. Link to post
Chid 6,794
Instead of a 3/4grey 1/4collie why not go down the collie lurcher x collie lurcher route ... Socks could possibly have a litter on the way both sire and dam look well put together and have been worked ... 1 Link to post

Somewhereyournot 1,117
Instead of a 3/4grey 1/4collie why not go down the collie lurcher x collie lurcher route ... Socks could possibly have a litter on the way both sire and dam look well put together and have been worked ...ye they do look good. But what's to say his bitch takes, and what's to say they ain't all spoken for? It's not as if Iv not been looking for potential pups, believe me , I tried a pup from a fella with saluki influence over everything else after 2 months preservering with it, it had to be rehomed as it would not stop screaming out the kennel, and I mean screaming. Since then I still been looking, all together Iv been looking for about 8 months I'd say maybe longer? Either pups are all spoken for or not quite what Iv wanted. I'm sticking to what I know and what I like and that's a fast type lurcher which is collie x. Il pm socks and see what he says. But I won't hold my breath, collie x lurcher litters are the hardest to get hand on I find. Link to post

Somewhereyournot 1,117
Socks bitch has bull in it, So won't suit. Lol, ok. Look lads got nothing against bull in a lurcher. Just don't like people saying bull x greys are the best all rounders etc. I think there's far better xs. I was down for a pup off T Jones mates litter but since talking to him have also come to a dead end? Link to post

roybo 2,873
I'd sooner have a pup with a touch of bull in that has breeding going back a fair few generations doing what you want and more, than a possibly neurotic, unsocialized ,pup from a puppy farmer TBH But if it floats your boat ,best of British to you 2 Link to post

I'd rather a pup from Hancock than a pup off preloved just bred for money exactly the same as Hancock. Atleast you know the greyhounds he uses are from good blood, and that the sires temperaments are ok. Link to post
