Somewhereyournot 1,117
I'd like to see any dog 21 and under which half x bull or beddy would prob be under, kill 7 foxes single handed a night. Courses caught and killed with no help. That's fair amount of stick to be had for any dog never mind one weighing about 30-40 lb lolBoring????whys it boring because I got an opinion? It's a forum?Didn't say it's not possible because until I see it il be neutral. Just 7 Charles single handed on same day is some going IMO , just to see them, never mind a 20" dog kill all of them. Thats because we know it cant be done never mind possible mate, but some of these i know everything and been told everything no more than us experience dog men.if i didnt know anyting in 35yrs mate i think its time ti hang my leads up lol.dont let them them get to ya mate atbi wouldn't class myself as experienced at all, had running dogs myself nearly 8 years now, but I know what Iv seen and what I think is capable etc. Ye small dogs do supprise people from time to time. But to confidently brag that a beddy whippet of say 20" can course catch and kill 7 in one night comfortably is bending the truth slightly in my opinion BUT, il still be up for being proved wrong with an invite Quote Link to post

buster gonads 862
Back on topic My own opinion, for what its worth, bearing in mind i only hunt rabbits these days, is that i cant really see the point of putting bull blood into a whippet if, and its a big if, if the RIGHT type of Beddy can be sourced, your more likely to get the racey type most rabbiting men are after using a Beddy and as a bonus a bit more coat. If my prey had teeth iam not sure i,d want whippet blood in the mix anyway, and i,d probably favor a good Wheaton over Bull. 1 Quote Link to post

I think if people want that extra bit of sand in a little knock about mooching dog. Main reason I would opt for bull over beddy is where I come from its easier to find a well bred pit bull then it is to find a pet bull. Where as you say it's a very big "if" finding a Bedlington worthy of its name. Having said that I know the Beddy x will end up physically more versatile than a 1st x bullxwhippet. I suppose it's a trade off while taking into consideration what a man wants from his dog. Me personally, I love bumping into old Charlie on my daily mooches. So although I'm more a daytime rabbiting man, I think a bullxwhippet will be a handy little addition. I'm not knocking the Beddy whippet that goes back to the real stuff, I know that there are lads on here that run them and I'm always interested in reading up on them but I think unless you can get something line bred from beddys going back a few years, it's time to source the sand from somewhere else. And I'm not ruling out a leggy Patterdale bull x either... Just thought I'd throw that last statement in just to mix it up a little a.t.b brenner... Quote Link to post
