barrywhite 282
Yep probably a .177 with the same hitting power as .22 But probably a very similar trajectory so what you have gained you have also lost if that makes sense They might be a bit long for some mags too they will have a lot better BC than a similar weight 22 so will arrive with more power and speed .if they are accurate and leave the gun at 11.5 ft lbs then they will be similar to a 22 but better I'd like to think this were true but I think all you will find with these is that they will over penetrate (dumping little energy on the target) as they don't have the same surface area. Perhaps a heavy hollow point such as h&n extremes would do what you say. They should be good in wind though I never find the OVER penetration of 177 a problem I like it .The problem I find is the UNDER penetration with 22 . 1 Quote Link to post

I agree, but in terms of 'hard hitting', which to me means that the pellet is dumping a lot of energy on the target, then a .22 will always be more hard hitting atleast with the same head shape, and weight. That's what I was getting at anyway. Quote Link to post
David.evans 5,323
It don't really matter as long as you hit the kill zone ! Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
I don't find a problem with ether and shoot both Hope this is not going to turn out to be another .22 v .177 post !! 1 Quote Link to post
jonnie bravo 572
This is true! Back in my cage now I can't deal with a vs debate, accuracy is what matters above all and it doesn't matter how you achieve that, practice makes perfect and no wonder pellet or all singing and dancing gun will fix your technique. So anyway.177 or .22 lol Quote Link to post
