David.evans 5,323
Bought a tin of these , just for the crack ! Thro the hw100 there @ 620 fps over the chrono, that makes them about the same as the average.22 , I think ? ( sure some one will put me right ) So me thinks I've got the best of both worlds Pack the punch like a .22 ( narrrr I'm sticken to the 10.4 / 8.4 grain ) The thing beening that can't be done in .22 . Light pellet down to the weight of a 177 ? Atb Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
Falcon acc plus 13.3gr @625 fps , H&N ftt @587 fps , AA fields @ 575 fps Have you shot at any targets yet ? Quote Link to post
David.evans 5,323
Yes Mitch Out 30 yards , back garden seem ok , I'll take them out to the field and zero at 30 yards and see what there like at range , and most importantly, the drop off , might be to much on the mill dots Atb Quote Link to post
vizlauk 1,568
David I think the drop off will hit as soon as you go over 30 yards mate, I would think there a bit to heavy in sub 12 , let me know how they perform Quote Link to post
jonnie bravo 572
Yep probably a .177 with the same hitting power as .22 But probably a very similar trajectory so what you have gained you have also lost if that makes sense They might be a bit long for some mags too Quote Link to post

Coypu Hunter 486
I use the .22 version (25.38 grains, if memory serves) or Bisley Magnums (21 grains) in my 16 fpe HW85. The JSBs are accurate enough at 33 yards, and well-made, but pricey compared with the Bisleys. Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
Yep probably a .177 with the same hitting power as .22 But probably a very similar trajectory so what you have gained you have also lost if that makes sense They might be a bit long for some mags too they will have a lot better BC than a similar weight 22 so will arrive with more power and speed .if they are accurate and leave the gun at 11.5 ft lbs then they will be similar to a 22 but better Edited January 26, 2016 by barrywhite 2 Quote Link to post
David.evans 5,323
As said lads I'll give a go in the field the weekend I'll do 30 out to 55 yards in 5 yards in increments And let you know what the drop of is at these ranges Might be ok ? Atb Quote Link to post

Perhaps a heavy hollow point such as h&n extremes would do what you say. They should be good in wind though Quote Link to post

David.evans 5,323
Mitch Do you find that the express, deflected less in the wind that say 10.4 grain , and even 8.4 I ought a tin if the express 7. Sumat , but haven even opened them yet Seems like to much choice for me , but what's best , is the name of the game ! ATB Quote Link to post
